Perenich, Caulfield, Avril & Noyes Personal Injury Lawyers brings two Board Certified Civil Trial Attorneys, a dedicated workers' compensation practice, and more than $675 million recovered for clients to every Tampa work accident case we handle. We've represented injury victims throughout Tampa Bay since 1955, and we've never practiced anything other than personal injury and wrongful death law.

We offer free consultations and work on a contingency fee basis, so you won't pay attorney fees unless we secure a recovery for you.

How Our Attorneys Handle Tampa Work Accident Cases

Workplace injury claims involve tight deadlines, insurance disputes, and medical documentation that must be handled precisely from the start. At our firm, an attorney manages your case directly and stays accessible to you throughout the process. We don't route communication through layers of staff or delegate case strategy to non-lawyers.

Lorraine E. Robinson, a Board Certified Civil Trial Attorney who has held that distinction for more than twenty years, handles workers' compensation and personal injury cases. Matthew E. Noyes also represents clients in workers' compensation and personal injury cases. Bryan D. Caulfield, also Board Certified in Civil Trial Law, anchors our trial practice. Board Certification in Civil Trial Law is a distinction held by fewer than two percent of Florida lawyers.

This level of attorney involvement matters because work accident cases often require coordination between a workers' comp claim and a separate personal injury lawsuit. Our attorneys evaluate both pathways from day one, provide consistent updates, and prepare every claim with the expectation that it may go to trial. That preparation strengthens negotiation leverage at every stage.

If you can't travel after your injury, we offer home, hospital, and workplace visits so that your recovery doesn't delay your case.

Two Paths to Compensation After a Workplace Injury

Florida operates a no-fault workers' compensation system, meaning benefits are available regardless of who caused the accident. Understanding the difference between workers' comp and a third-party personal injury claim is critical because each pathway recovers different damages.

Workers' Compensation Benefits

Workers' comp typically covers medical treatment, a portion of lost wages (generally two-thirds of your average weekly wages), permanent disability benefits, and death benefits. It doesn't cover pain and suffering or your full lost income. In most cases, you can't sue your employer directly when workers' comp coverage applies.

You must report your workplace injury to your employer within 30 days under Florida law, or you risk losing the right to benefits.

Third-Party Personal Injury Claims

When someone other than your employer caused or contributed to your injury, a third-party claim may be available. Liable parties can include a negligent contractor, an equipment manufacturer, a property owner, or an at-fault driver. A third-party lawsuit can recover damages that workers' comp doesn't pay, including full lost wages, pain and suffering, emotional distress, disfigurement, and loss of consortium.

This is where trial capability becomes directly relevant to your outcome. Insurance companies adjust their offers based on whether your attorney has credentials and a demonstrated willingness to take a case to verdict. With Board Certified trial attorneys building your claim, the other side knows we're prepared to go to court.

Florida's personal injury statute of limitations is two years from the date of the accident for injuries occurring after March 24, 2023. For accidents on or before March 23, 2023, the deadline is four years. Missing this window forfeits your right to file.

Why Tampa Workers Turn to Perenich, Caulfield, Avril & Noyes Personal Injury Lawyers

We built this firm on personal injury and wrongful death law. We didn't add workplace accident cases to a general practice roster; they've been central to our work for nearly seven decades. That focus means we've handled high-stakes, complex claims that many newer or broader firms haven't encountered, including catastrophic injury and medical malpractice cases requiring years of preparation.

Our attorneys have earned recognition that reflects this commitment. Bryan Caulfield and Matthew Noyes have each been named to Super Lawyers for ten consecutive years. The firm is AV Preeminent rated by Martindale-Hubbell, a member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, and our attorneys have been recognized among the Top 100 Trial Lawyers by the National Trial Lawyers.

With two Tampa offices and deep roots in the community, we know the local courts, the local insurance carriers, and the tactics they use. Clients work directly with their attorney and receive consistent updates, so they know where their case stands.

We treat you like family.
If you can’t come to us, we’ll come to you.
