Fatal Bicycle Accident Leaves Police Looking for Answers
A hit and run accident killed a bicyclist in Zephyrhills on Friday night. According to ABC Action News, Florida Highway Patrol investigators are asking the public’s help to provide information about a deadly hit and run accident that killed 23-year-old Robert Leo Burger III. Mr. Burger was traveling south on Fort King Road (CR-41) near Fairview Heights Road in Zephyrhills Friday night shortly before 10:30 p.m. According to troopers, Mr. Burger lost control of the bicycle and fell into the roadway where a vehicle then hit Mr. Burger and failed to stop. Burger suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the crash scene. The Florida Highway Patrol is asking any witnesses to the crash or anyone with information on the driver and vehicle to contact Corporal Erik Bromiley by calling the Florida Highway Patrol at 813-631-4020.
