Take time for a tire safety check
A recent survey has found that 52 percent of drivers don’t know their tires are bald and 55 percent have at least one under-inflated wheel. To help keep motorists safe and tires intact this summer, the attorneys at Perenich, Caulfield, Avril & Noyes ask you to consider the following three tire safety tips:
1. Check tire pressure monthly.
2. Regularly inspect tread depth. To check tire tread, place a quarter upside down in the tread grooves on several spots of the tire. If the top of Washington’s head is exposed at any point, it’s time to replace the tire.
3. Align and rotate tires as required. Misaligned tires can cause uneven and rapid tread wear.
Inadequately maintained tires can have many consequences, including the possibility of endangering the safety of yourself and others on the roadways.
