Giving Cozy Pajamas To Children In Our Community
The ritual of the putting on a warm pair of pajamas on a cold night and listening to a bedtime story is something that every child should enjoy. Unfortunately, many less fortunate families miss out on this tradition. The personal injury law firm of Perenich, Caulfield, Avril & Noyes wants to change this with their PCAN PJ PROJECT.
Over the last several months, the lawyers and staff of Perenich, Caulfield, Avril & Noyes (PCAN)have donated money, pajamas and books to over 80 children so they can enjoy a new pair of warm pajamas and a book for the holidays. Through dress-down days (where staff members paid $5 to wear jeans to work) and fun activities like “Park With the Partners” (the partners’ covered parking spaces went to the highest bidder for a week) and raffles, the staff and attorneys raised nearly $1,000 for this the PCAN PJ Project.
The pajamas and books were distributed in a few ways. On December 17, 2010 attorneys and staff members delivered care packages to 21 kids at the YMCA. Also on the same day families from the St Vincent De Paul Organization came to the law firm and picked up their care packages.
On Monday, December 20, 2010, children from the Boys and Girls Club of Clearwater and St. Petersburg came in to the law offices of Perenich, Caulfield, Avril & Noyes and picked up their care packages.
“Our firm has been serving the families of Pinellas County since 1955,” partner Matthew E. Noyes states. “This is the beginning of a year-long project to say thank you to our community and to bring smiles to many children’s faces.”
Throughout the year, the lawyers and staff will continue their activities so that at the beginning of next summer, the law firm can give needy children cooler pajamas for the summer and a book to enjoy.
The staff from Perenich, Caulfield, Avril & Noyes wishes everyone in our community a Safe and Happy New Year!
