Hit & Run Car Accident with School Bus
Hit and run car accidents are happening too often. On Tuesday, a hit and run car accident on McMullen-Booth Road in front of the Post Office on Belcher Road resulted in the death of a Largo woman. This morning, a motorist struck the back of a stopped school bus and then drove off in her pickup, troopers said.
The wreck occurred about 9:40 a.m. on McMullen-Booth Road after the bus stopped just south of State Road 590 for a railroad crossing. The bus was rear-ended by the pickup, which was described as a newer, maroon Ford, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The pickup’s driver is described as a white woman, age 50 to 55 with blond hair. She appeared to be wearing a nurse’s uniform. Anyone with information should call Trooper J. Bregon at (813) 631-4020.
The bus driver was taken to Largo Medical Center with injuries. Fortunately, none of the chidren had to be taken to the emergency room from the accident scene.
