Land O’ Lakes 4-car crash kills 2
Two people died in a Land O’ Lakes crash that involved four cars on U.S. 41. The wrongful death accident occurred when a 36-year-old man driving a Chevrolet S-10 pickup north on Highway 41 drove into the path of a southbound Ford F-150. The 43-year-old driver of that truck drove off the road to avoid the crash. However, the Chevrolet collided with a Mitsubishi Galant head-on. The driver of the Galant was killed in the crash as well as another victim.
A fourth car, a Toyota Corolla, also left the road in an effort to avoid the collision and drove into a traffic sign. Florida Highway Patrol officers are investigating the cause of the crash, but have not released an official statement on why the driver of the Chevrolet pickup left his lane and collided with the other car.
In cases in which multiple vehicles are involved and there are multiple injuries, fault can sometimes be difficult to assign. In some cases, personal injury attorneys retain professional accident investigators in order to establish the true cause of an accident. These professionals review accident reports, talk to witnesses and examine the scene of the accident to collect physical evidence.
A victim who has been injured in a multiple-vehicle accident may need this type of help to establish liability on the part of another driver. By retaining a personal injury attorney, accident victims can take proactive steps to recover the damages to which they are entitled to pay for medical expenses and other costs.
