Florida man seriously injured in motorcycle accident
A car and a motorcycle collided on New Tampa Highway on Wednesday, July 10, 2013. A 60-year-old Lakeland, Florida man is currently in serious condition after he was hit while riding his motorcycle east on New Tampa Highway, before 9:30 a.m.
Immediately prior to the car accident, an 85-year-old driver of a 2007 Lincoln was attempting to make a left turn off of Gay Road onto New Tampa Highway. After the driver of the Lincoln had started to make his turn, the operator of the 2004 Honda Shadow motorcycle hit the rear driver’s side corner of the car. After the crash, the motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center with severe injuries.
