Dead Pigs Block Road
If you’re like us, you might have many different reactions to this headline from Fox 13. Ew! What?! And mostly, HOW?
The poor Sarasota drivers must also be asking the same questions. Apparently, a truck carrying the pig carcasses did not have them properly secured, and four of the dead pigs fell from the back of the truck. Why a truck was carrying dead pigs is another question, although it’s possible that they were being transported from a farm, or maybe from a meat-processing plant. The report does not say if the driver of the truck stopped after the pigs fell into the road. Whatever the reason, the incident has left this section of I-75 looking like “a homicide scene.”
Traffic is blocked in two lanes while a road crew cleans the gruesome scene. Additionally, the road will be hosed down, due to the terrible smell of rotting meat. Traffic does seem to be moving, albeit it slowly, as drivers try to avoid running over something disgusting.
Hopefully, the scene is cleaned up quickly, and Sarasota commuters can carry on. This is a gross and strange traffic report for sure, but at least everyone involved will have a unique story for their coworkers about why they were late to work this morning!
