Courtney Campbell Causeway getting makeover
Pedestrians and cyclists will be happy to learn the Courtney Campbell may be getting a little safer in the coming months and years. Starting this past weekend, crews began repaving the Causeway, and adding two trails–a five-foot sidewalk on the north and a 12-foot multi-use trail to the south. The transportation department says the improvements will be complete by 2014.
As we take a minute to appreciate this improvement, we should also remember some basic safety tips while we’re out enjoying the scenic Courtney Campbell Causeway. Drivers, remember to share the road with cyclists and watch for pedestrians. And if you are out enjoying the fresh salt air on these new paths, avoid distractions and pay attention to the traffic. If your journey is on bike, please be sure to use a helmet, safety lights, and bright clothing to help motorists see you. Install rear-view mirrors when possible to help you monitor traffic in all directions.
Unfortunately, no matter how safe you are, injury is always possible. It only takes a split second for a swerving, texting driver to cause a lifetime of injury. If you are injured, call the personal injury attorneys of Perenich, Caulfield, Avril & Noyes, P.A. We’ll see you through.
