Truck Accident Spills Beer on Tampa Highway
The St. Petersburg Times and Bay News 9 are reporting a trucking accident on I-4 in Tampa involving a beer truck that overturned spilling beer onto the highway.
Just before midnight on Sunday, the beer truck was traveling on Interstate 4 near U.S. 301 when the truck overturned in the median. Emergency crews had to close a lane of traffic briefly while cleaning beer from the roadway.
Thankfully, no one was hurt in the accident. It’s not the first time Tampa has seen an accident involving a beer truck. In June 2010, another tractor trailer transporting beer flipped onto its side spilling beer. Unfortunately, the driver in that accident, wasn’t as lucky and had to be transported to a local emergency room for medical treatment.
While a trucking accident causing beer to be spilled all over the highway may seem quite humorous, trucking accidents are generally no laughing matter. Thousands of Floridians are injured every year in accidents involving semi trucks. With the size and weight of these machines, people struck by tractor trailers often sustain very serious injuries.
