Car Accident Leaves Father Dead and Daughter Seriously Injured
A car accident in Tampa involving a FedEx truck left a father dead and his daughter seriously injured. The St. Petersburg Times reports that Jeanette Aguiar, 57, and her father, Jose Veciana, 89, were likely heading home from an early dinner just before the car accident. The car accident occurred last week at about 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday when Aguiar’s car drifted into oncoming traffic on Armenia Avenue. Her car collided with the FedEx truck. It is still unknown as to why her vehicle veered into oncoming traffic.
Both Aguiar and Veciana were rushed to the hospital. Veciana died at the hospital as a result of his injuries sustained in the car accident and Aguiar remained in critical condition. Veciana, who suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, was living with Aguiar. She had taken him in to care for him when he began to show early stages of Alzheimer’s disease. Yider Moralas, 42, the FedEx driver, and his passenger, Patrick Mchayly, 38, suffered minor injuries in the crash. The car accident is still under investigation and anyone with information should call (813) 231-6130.
