Favorable Verdict After Truck Runs Over Client
09 Aug 2007
After two separate trials, attorneys of Perenich Caulfield Avril Noyes obtained a favorable jury verdict for their client. The verdict was returned was returned after the jury heard legal argument of how a tractor trailer ran over the client while he stood outside a business to purchase a small load of rocks.
The jury heard testimony of how after the truck initially struck the client, the truck continues backing up causing one of the truck's inside tires to roll over the client's foot. The client was dragged several feet by the truck as he held onto a bar under the trailer.
As a result of the driver's negligence, the client sustained a significant injury to his foot requiring surgery. A part of the foot's joint was removed and metal pins needed to be inserted in the bone. Unfortunately, the client was left with muscle wasting, nerve injury, and the inability to enjoy his activities without restriction and limitation.
After hearing all the testimony, one jury returned a verdict finding the tractor trailer driver negligent for this accident. Another jury returned a favorable verdict for the client's damages. The jury trial took a combined two weeks to conclude. Unlike some attorneys and law firms, the attorneys at Perenich Caulfield Avril Noyes are willing to take cases to jury trial.
